About Us

Bahar is a student-led charity group at the University of Toronto aiming to help underprivileged communities in Iran, especially children in need. This group acts as a connecting bridge between the residents of North America and non-profit organizations in Iran by organizing sponsorship plans, fundraising campaigns, and awareness-raising events.

Since its establishment in August 2016 by a group of students at the University of Toronto, Bahar Charity has regularly organized events concerned with socio-economical problems such as child labour, poverty, education deprivation, and crisis response. Volunteers in Bahar believe in helping the marginalized communities by supporting them through education, skill development, and social entrepreneurship. In this line, Bahar puts such activities at the center of its plans. Examples are sponsorship plans, Fifa Night events, "Chai and Charity" meet-ups, and other initiatives that promote the social-entrepreneurship spirits. Please check out our past events here.

We collaborate and partner with nonprofit organizations in Iran where they aim to alleviate the adverse effects of poverty and provide a better situation for the underprivileged children. To this date, we have supported different campaigns in the Association for the protection of child labourers, Society of students against poverty, Mehr-e-Giti charity, Yaran-e-Eshgh Foundation, Tehran University of Medical Science, Mehrafarin Charity, and Paradise Charity; we are constantly seeking opportunities to nurture connections with other impactful non-profit organizations in Iran.

You can help us in our journey in several different ways if you are interested: make a one-time or monthly donation, support our sponsorship plans, attend awareness-raising events, or join us in the executive committee. Make sure to connect with us on social media channels to hear about our ongoing events. Please visit our Facebook page, Instagram page, and Telegram channel.
